Ways You Can Help - Volunteer

Companion Parrots Re-homed is an all-volunteer organization. If you are interested in volunteering please call 704-889-2325 or email us at info@CompanionParrots.org.

We offer special sessions of volunteer training for event representatives. Please check the ‘Calendar of Events’ at www.parrotu.com for dates and times. Volunteers who represent CPR at events should also attend the ‘Parrot 101’ class.

Volunteer Opportunities

•	Provide Quarantine or Foster Homes (please see requirements below*)
•	Represent CPR at events such as 'Petco Adoption' (weekends)
•	Post flyers and posters or help with publicity
•	Provide transportation to take birds to veterinarian, quarantine and foster homes)
•	Be a Docent for busy times at Parrot U (weekends)
•	Help make toys for the birds of CPR
•	Help raise funds to support the birds of CPR
•	Socialize and care for the birds

*Foster/Quarantine Home Requirements

•	Any birds currently in the home must have had a physical exam and negative psittacosis test within the last year from a CPR approved avian veterinarian.
•	At least one member of the household must complete 'Parrot 101' (additional classes may be required based on experience level and bird to be fostered).
•	A CPR representative will perform a home visit.
•	NO SMOKING IN THE HOME.
